１９６８年８月出生於薩福克郡的狄娜．卡洛（Dina Carroll）是１９９０年代英國歌壇的熱門歌姬

黑白混血　父母一是蘇格蘭人　一是非裔美國人

自小喜歡歌唱  １３歲時贏得地方歌唱比賽

１６歲曾與小型舞曲公司簽約　發過兩首單曲　反應普通

１９８９年卡洛與Jive／Zomba唱片簽約　發過數支單曲　但迴響依舊平凡

後來被第一大經紀公司（First Avenue Management）發掘簽約．

１９９１年為團體Quartz單曲［it’s Too Late］擔任主唱　打進英國單曲榜＃８　才開始受到矚目

這時第一大道經紀公司決定將狄娜以獨唱藝人的身份重新推出，

並由董事總經理 Howard Berman 與 A&M Records 簽約。

１９９２年６月２９日，卡洛推出單曲［Aint No Man／沒有男人］

由她跟 Nigel Lowis 共同創作

歌詞是女主角告訴男方沒有一個男人能讓她有像他一樣的感覺。

卡洛在1992 年一次採訪說：

“我們想要一首讚歌般的、令人難忘的歌曲。

出於某種原因，奈傑爾[路易斯] 提出了［Aint No Mountain High Enough ］，這個想法後來演變成了［Aint No Man／沒有男人］。”

Nigel Lowis將其製作成一首House／流行舞曲，

狄娜寬廣的歌喉駕馭此曲游刃有餘．

［Aint No Man］登上英國單曲榜＃１６　成為她個人首支Top２０熱門曲

讓卡洛終於在歌壇走紅，開始她璀璨的事業．

此曲後來收在１９９３年首張４白金大碟［So Close］中
