１９９２年６月　淡出歌壇兩年的４３歲半澳洲／英國歌壇天后奧莉薇亞紐頓-強（Olivia Newton-John）積極復出歌壇,推出第三張正式精選輯［Back to Basics：The Essential Collection 1971-1992］(Geffen出版), 希望東山再起

可是專輯發行不久, 紐頓-強被檢查罹患乳癌

只能放棄宣傳, 還有十年來首次巡迴演唱的計畫, 進行治療

幸好精選輯［Back to Basics：The Essential Collection 1971-1992］在其主要市場表現不錯

登上英國榜＃１２　澳洲榜＃１５（金唱片）　紐西蘭＃７

在美國　雖然只得到＃１２１　卻十分長賣　最後拿到金唱片（５０萬張＋）。

大碟收錄三首新歌, 兩首以正式主打推出, 另外一首［I Want to Be Wanted／我想被需要］則為宣傳單曲。

［I Want to Be Wanted］原是義大利語歌曲［Per tutta la vita／一輩子］,由Pino Spotti＋Alberto Testa譜寫, 為１９６０年代電影［Never on Sunday］主題曲, 曾拿到奧斯卡原創歌曲。

美國詞曲家Kim Gannon改編成英語歌曲, 由當時少女歌手布蘭達李（Brenda Lee）灌錄並發行, 登上Billboard單曲榜冠軍。

奧莉薇亞版由英國音樂人Peter Asher製作成一首成人流行抒情曲, 在優美的樂聲中, 紐頓-強以深情投入嗓音,將歌曲逐漸帶向高潮

細膩動人。

［Back to Basics：The Essential Collection 1971-1992］三首新歌皆頗為動聽,可惜碰上奧莉薇亞生病, 無法宣傳, 導致無法讓更多人周知。
