１９８２年５月 , ２１歲半的美國當代福音天后艾美．葛蘭特（Amy Grant）發行第四張專輯〔Age to Age／時代對時代〕專輯（Myrrh出版），

開始融入明顯的流行曲風。

獲得高度讚揚, 成為當代福音樂的經典作品。

反應成功, 最後在美銷售突破１００萬張,

這使艾美成為當代福音界首位拿到金／白金唱片的歌手。

仍由Brown Bannister製作, 繼續顯示她積極轉向當代流行曲風的企圖, 融入電吉他與合成樂器, 主流味道更濃, 依舊獲得出色評價。

［Straight Ahead／直接前進］成為葛蘭特首張打入Billboard專輯榜的大碟（＃１３３）

並四度登上Billboard副榜──福音專輯榜冠軍, 在美國拿到金唱片（５０萬張＋）, 加拿大金唱片（１０萬張＋）。

首支單曲為［Angels／天使］,

由艾美,  Brown Bannister, 丈夫Gary Chapmanm與好友麥可史密斯（Michael W. Smith）合寫。

描述聖經中使徒彼得被希律王的警衛抓住, 接著形容上帝讓祂的天使照顧信徒,並指引保護他們在恐懼, 懷疑, 困惑與誘惑的時代當中。

被製作成一首合成流行風味的當代福音曲。

在輕快的節拍中, 葛蘭特以自信唱腔有力演繹, 展現虔誠信心的一面。
