１９８２年５月　當紅的美國現代福音天后艾美．葛蘭特（Amy Grant）發行第四張專輯〔Age to Age〕專輯

開始融入明顯的流行曲風

讓她開始打入主流市場　奠定其‘基督流行樂女皇’的地位

並拿到白金唱片

（艾美是當代福音界首位拿到金／白金唱片的歌手　對這種多半只在基督音樂商店販售的小眾樂風來說　算是相當傑出的成就）

但葛蘭特的目標是成為第一位當代福音創作歌手同時也是首位當代流行樂歌手

因而下張專輯做了直接改變

１９８５年　艾美推出第六張錄音室大碟〔Unguarded〕（事業第９張）

由長期伙伴Brown Bannister製作

艾美參與七首歌曲創作

曲風大變, 轉為流行／搖滾, 成人當代流行味

關於宗教信仰的歌詞縮減──雖仍有不少勵志內容

不過樂評仍舊出色　被視為其事業經典之一

首支主打［Find A Way／尋到方向］由艾美跟麥可史密斯（Michael W. Smith）合寫

內容鼓勵聽眾儘管生活試驗, 但只要保持樂觀心態, 生命自會找到方向

此曲被製作成一首合成流行／搖滾風的快板歌曲

雖然某些基督音樂歌迷抱怨葛蘭特跨界到流行樂

［Find A Way］是當時少數發行實體單曲的福音歌曲（一般只送到電台主打）

順利登上Billboard副榜──基督教歌曲榜冠軍　讓艾美五度封后

這也是她首支打入美國Billboard單曲榜的歌曲, 拿到＃２９,

也首度出現在另一副榜──成人當代榜（Adult Contemporay）＃７

由於大碟五首主打皆進入基督教歌曲榜Top１５

其中兩首進入主流的單曲榜

〔Unguarded〕登上Billboard專輯榜＃３５　銷售逾百萬張  拿到白金唱片

加拿大也拿到金唱片（５萬張）

Billboard副榜──當代基督樂專輯榜（Top Contemporary Christian）冠軍

（1985年終＃6, 1986年終冠軍, 1987年終＃11）

名列１９８０年代最暢銷當代基督音樂專輯＃６

１９８６年為艾美拿到葛萊美最佳福音女歌手

成為其事業的高峰之一
