The maple trees are around my house 

and bring squirrels to store their food 

and play on the trees, on the ground.

         In the summer,
 I saw the birds hopping on the trees,
or heard the people's feet going past me on the street.
      Now, winter is coming !
my home is a shield from wind and storm,
 
     no matter how cold it is.
 
    My home is always warm and sweet.
       You're welcome at my home,
 
       come in and hang your hat;
     The tea is brewing on the stove,
         we'll sit awhile and chat.
