Thomas wakes up in an elevator and finds himself in a completely enclosed environment with about sixty teenage boys, aged twelve to eighteen, looking at him. These boys have been in “The Glade” subsisting on their own agriculture and supplies for about 3 years. They are also finding their way to escape through the maze.
