* Canterbury Tales
            - 1865 ended 南北戰爭, ended Romantic Period
            - It is a collection of over 20 stories written in Middle English by Geoffrey Chaucer at the
              end of the 14th century, during the time of the Hundred Years' War. 
            - The tales are most written in verse and some are in prose. 


* When Lilacs last in the door and bloom’d
            - 不壓尾運，但左邊的 “O, With, I, The, As” 凸顯了詩中的 pattern
            - Long poem in the form of an elegy written by Walt Whitman in 1865. 
            - It is a 206 lines poem written in free verse with many of the devices and conceits of the
              pastoral elegy.

            - An American writer who spent most of his writing career in Britain. He is regarded as one
               of the key figures of 19th century literary realism. 
            - 像 T.S. Elliot 一樣比較富有
            - Edith Wharton 的弟子，背景也相似
            - 和 T.S. Elliot + Edith Wharton 比較相似，所以這些人都移民英國
            - 1914 大戰，純真年代


* Mark Twain and Henry James 透過 William Dean Howells 認識
            - 1865 till 1914 這兩個人用不同的角度寫出 realistic society
            - before that 比較偏向 Romanticism


* The Yellow Wallpaper (Charlotte)
            - A 6000 word short story by the American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
            - First published in The New England Magazine. 
            - Regarded as an important early work of American feminist literature. 
            - It illustrates attitudes in the 19th century toward women's physical and mental health.

 
* The Storm (Kate)
            - Handle and forbidden desire from the write, Kate Chopin. 
            - It is a short story abou tan extramarital affair in the South, is very sexually explicit,
              especially for the time it was written in 1989.
