Dear Friends, Wars don't end when the last soldier leaves the battlefield. That's a lesson I learned firsthand last spring when I led my first delegation to Vietnam to observe the devastating impact of Agent Orange on the environment and health of that nation. And it's why I'm returning to Vietnam -- today, in fact -- with another delegation of U.S. leaders. I'm hoping to build support for a plan backed by the Aspen Institute and the Ford Foundation to clean up the toxic legacy of Agent Orange and other herbicides in Vietnam. Please click here to see the plan and lend your support. I know that this isn't an issue that you might typically associate with Common Cause. That's why I made this short video to explain why "Making Agent Orange History" is so important: In the coming days, I hope you'll follow my trip to Vietnam on CommonBlog. And I strongly urge you to support the ten-year Plan of Action to clean up the contaminated soils and restore damaged ecosystems in Vietnam, as well as expand services to people with illnesses and disabilities and their families. Please click here to see the plan and lend your support. Thanks for all you do. Sincerely, Bob Edgar President, Common Cause |
