A free electron travelling horizontally with speed v enters a uniform vertical magnetic field B. The path of the electron is a vertical circle. Explain why it is incorrect.

Since the directions of B-field, velocity of electron and magnetic force on the electron should be mutually perpendicular, if the path of the electron is a vertical circle, it means that the centripetal force (resulting from the magnetic force) on the electron lies in the vertical plane, implying that the force has components in the B-field direction at some instant which disobeys the rule of mutual perpendicular.
