Mongrel mob members after being convicted of murder

Quentin Duane Pukeroa was jailed in December 2010 for at least 15 years after a jury in the High Court in Rotorua found him guilty of murdering 16-year-old Jordan Herewini in January 2009.


Pukeroa was also convicted of two counts of aggravated burglary, one count of injuring with intent to injure, one count of attempted murder, iphone Case and one count of participating in an organised criminal group.


In a judgment, released on Thursday, the Court of Appeal allowed Pukeroa's appeal against his sentence, cutting his minimum non-parole period to 13 years.


However, the court dismissed Pukeroa's appeal against his convictions.


Jordan was run down by Pukeroa, who was behind the wheel of a ute, digitizing embroidery amid tensions between Kawerau Mongrel Mob members and members of the Murupara-based Tribesmen gang.


Pukeroa and other Mongrel Mob members had earlier gone out to find the Tribesmen members, including Jordan's brothers, who were responsible for assaulting him and another man and stealing his ute.


The Mongrel Mob members had armed themselves with weapons and drove around Murupara in a convoy in search of the missing vehicle.


The gang members arrived at the house where Jordan and his brothers lived and after abuse was exchanged cem1 pcb, Pukeroa drove his vehicle at the Herewini brothers.


Jordan was hit after he tripped on a clothesline in the path of the ute.


He sustained multiple serious injuries, IP Camera Manufacturer including a fractured skull and brain trauma, and died en route to Rotorua Hospital.
