編輯者言: 我們的友人馥米今年在羅浮宮買了一本介紹藝術作品的書﹕ < A kid's guide to the Louvre for adults >。 Self-Portrait ( P109-P111 ) http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki 1493,oil parchment mounted on canvas, 56* Albrecht Durer [Nuremberg, 1471- idem, 1528] Location: Richelieu, 2 nd Floor – Painting Albrecht Durer. The Adoration of the Magi. 1504. Oil on panel. 畫家必須去拜訪其他 今天,我們依然還可以見到他許多的水彩畫作﹐是記錄他畫下他的外國 ------------------------------ A kid ' s guide to the Louvre for adults P109-P111 Self-Portrait 1493,oil parchment mounted on canvas, 56* Albrecht Durer [Nuremberg, 1471- idem, 1528] Location: Richelieu, 2nd Floor – Painting [ *This man doesn ' t appear very natural. That ' s because he is posing for this painting. His body is turned towards the left, but his eyes are looking to the right. In his hands he holds a thistle blossom. Considering the time required to execute this painting, he may have remained in this position for hours. *It looks as if he is looking at somebody. This is a self-portrait; that is say that the artist painted his own image by studying his reflection in mirror. Only the concentrated look of his eyes allows us to guess that he is at the same time the model and the painter, since he didn ' t include either the brushes or the palette[ the wooden board used to hold and mix colors] that he was necessarily using. *Isn ' t he wearing a rather elegant outfit for painting? In the 15 th century, you could determine which social group[aristocracy, artisans, clergy…] a person belonged to by looking at the clothes they wore. Clothes were highly codified and the code were strictly respected. In this way, you could easily know with whom you were dealing. Here, Durer did not wish to portray himself in an artisan ' s costume, although he belonged to the artisan ' s class. In this painting, he wears the costume of an aristocrat. |
