Using the existing bikeways of Taichung city as the scope of study, this research conform domestic and international literatures to be standard in the engineering viewpoint. Subsequently, this utilizes the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and proposes each appraisal criterion to estimate the improvements of five-dimensional existing bikeways. At the same time, by investigating the point of view from government, academic unit and the industry with procurement strategy, and then collate the results. It gets the weighting factor of “Bikeway Signals” and “Bikeway Marks” are the most important. This research expects to use the evaluation criterion to improve the existing bikeways of the metropolitan area in Taiwan. As it should be the basis of bikeways planning and improvements to promote the right-way of bikeways.
