冬令救濟活動照片

今年紫蓮堂的(Winter Charity)寒冬送暖活動是12月19日下午2點到4點為止,當天是個下雨天,中午12點就陸續有人來等待領取救濟物資.由於前一天大家搭了3個帳篷,以及放置了一些椅子,所以早到的人可以在帳篷下等待而不至於被雨淋濕.

但是到了11點半左右,等待的人群越來越多,3個帳篷都擠滿了人,大家開始擔心如果更多人來的話,他們會被淋濕,還好就在這個時候,雨奇蹟似地,突然停了,一直到活動結束都沒再下過,我們都知道這個奇蹟的發生是因為蓮紫上師及眾法師同門誠心連修七壇法及祈求迴向的結果,因而沒有人被雨淋濕.

在活動進行當中,有一個家庭返回來,他們不是再回來拿更多的救濟物資,而是帶來了一張感謝卡,感謝我們給這個社區一個溫暖的聖誕節.

Union City的警察局長扮成聖誕老人,以及他的團隊都來支持此次活動, Jaime (Centro de Servicios Resource 中心主任)和他的一個董事會成員,一位AVE董事會成員,以及Tri-City Voices記者Simon,從頭到尾都參與這次的慈善活動,直到活動結束.

此次活動共幫助的人數及家庭:

小型家庭共派出 42 張票
服務平均 4 個人的家庭: 42 x 4 = 168
大型家庭共派出 67 張票
服務平均 8 個人的家庭: 67 x 8 = 536
當天來領取物資的總人數 : 280

沒有上師,法師及各位義工的支持，這個活動不會這麼圓滿成功,

Hi, everyone,

Without your support, this event wouldn’t be so successful. Let me give some facts here, the earliest people came around noon, but fortunately we set up 3 tents and some chairs so that they stayed without getting wet. Around 1:30 pm, the 3 tents were full of waiting people and we started to worry that if more people came, then they would get wet. Then a miracle happened, and the rain stopped until the event ended. Actually we all know this was a miracle because Master Lianzi, the Fai Shis, and all of us prayed hard so the weather turned out fine. Nobody got wet during the event.

During the event, one family came back, but not to get more stuff. They came back to give us a thank you card to thank us for giving the community a warming Christmas.                       

The Union City Police Chief came as Santa Claus with his team to show their support. Jaime (Centro de Servicios Resource Center director) and one of his board members, one SAVE board member, and Simon from the Tri-City Voices all stayed from the beginning to the end.

How many people we served during the chill and rain:

Small size family: 42 Tickets
Serve average 4 people per family: 42 x 4 = 168
Big size family: 67 Tickets
Serve average 8 people per family: 67 x 8 = 536
People walking in: 280 people
