If you’re a pro and do art on the computer, getting a giant 24-inch pen display would be terrific, which gives you a lot of space to draw your heart content. When you are looking for a 24-inch drawing tablet, you have two popular options: Wacom Cintiq 24 (2025) and Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3). These two drawing tablets have so many similarities that makes it hard to tell the differences between them, especially if you are a beginner. So, what's the difference between them? which one is better for you? Is it worth buying? Having looked at quite a number of drawing tablets over the past few years, this is where I come for help. In this article, I did a detailed side by side analysis – comparing every single major and minor detail of the two tablets. then you will know exactly which tablet is the best on your own. Wacom Cintiq 24 vs Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) In-depth ComparisonI will talk about all these features one by one in detail. Design and Build QualityBoth of the tablets follows a minimalistic design, feels strong and sturdy. The tablet itself is all black quality plastic with a front glass screen. The different thing is the overall size. The Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) is slightly bigger than Wacom Cintiq 24 as it has a lot more bezels around the screen. Note that Both devices are quite bulk, heavy and big —especially compared to smaller pen display, less portable. Screen ResolutionThe wacom cintiq 24 comes with a 2.5K QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, At a whopping 123.41 pixels per inch. Kamvas Pro 24 (gen 3) features a higher 4K UHD resolution of 3840×2160pixels, At 185.12 pixels per inch. A good quality QHD 1440p resolution on a 23.8-inch screen is adequate and will display sharp images and provide a good drawing experience. However, having the excellent 4K resolution does make a big difference, it’s much crisper and feels great to see your artwork. Plus, 4K screen has significantly more canvas space compared to 2.5K, which is great for productivity. For example, You can place a reference photo by the side and still have enough canvas space to draw with. Color GamutKamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) uses the QLED technique to increase the color gamut to 99% sRGB, 99% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3, and can display 1.07 billion (8bit+FRC) colors. Wacom Cintiq 24 uses IPS Panel with an excellent 100% of sRGB / 94 % Adobe RGB color gamut, in 8 bit mode. This is not quite as color accurate as the Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3), but it’s close. You may find that the colors on Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) are very oversaturated but not accurate, you should invest in a colorimeter to calibrate the screen. That said, the most accurate colors are not necessarily the most vivid. Wacom Cintiq 24 is designed to deliver the most accurate colors instead of over saturated vibrant ones so that when your work is viewed on other peoples' screens, it looks similar to what you, the artist, intended. Screen LaminationBoth the tablets come with the exact same laminated screen - the LCD display layer and the top glass are fully laminated together, no air gap between the layers. This offers multiple advantages over non-laminated screen: Effectively reduces parallax and reflection, brings the pen tip closer to the cursor, allowing for more accurate positioning. Drawing SurfaceBoth the tablets are equipped with an etched glass surface that add a fraction while you are drawing, bringing a nature pen on paper feeling. You will also appreciated the glare reduction on the matte etched screen, which prevented the light from obstructing your vision. Multi-TouchThe Huion Kamvas Pro 24 supports a ten-point capacitive touchscreen finger input, whereas the Wacom cintiq 24 doesn't. The touch screen feature is compatible with Windows 10 or later. Being able to perform shortcuts such as zoom, pan, scroll and rotate using touch-based gestures can be very convenient. The touch function is activated by a sliding switch at the top right of the display, making it versatile for those who prefer not to have a touch screen to switch off the function. Wacom Pro Pen 3 vs Huion PW600 Stylus
The Cintiq 24, in spite of being a budget alternative to Wacom cintiq pro 24 tablet, still comes with the same Pro Pen 3 stylus that you get in the Cintiq Pro models, which is a huge advantage. It comes with 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, lowest IAF of 1g, 60 degrees of tilt recognition, fast response time and accurate tracking that provide a fantastic drawing experience. The Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (gen 3), on the other hand, comes with two most advanced Pw600 pens. A thinner one that feels closer to a traditional pencil, and a standard one that's a bit more ergonomic, with three customizable buttons. The Pw600 stylus uses the lastest pen tech 4.0, with impressive 16384 levels of pressure sensitivity, 2g of IAF, and ±60° of tilt sensitivity. The stylus from huion and wacom are all battery-free, works on EMR, where they take their power from the tablet itself (wirelessly) and hence they do not need to be charged, like never. Pressure SensitivityHuion PW600 Stylus has 16384 levels while the Wacom Pro Pen 3 has 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity. Higher pressure levels (8k-16k) offer smoother transitions in brush size & opacity, but anything over 4k is generally comfortable. So the difference felt is minimal between 8K and 16K. Most artists won’t claim they can tell the difference between 8,192 and the 16,384 levels of pressure. Initial Activation ForceThe initial activation force is how much pressure you need to apply in order for the stylus to detect the touch and start drawing. The lower the initial activation force, the better. Huion Pw600 stylus has an Initial Activation Force of 2g, whereas the Wacom Pro pen 3 has lower IAF of 1g, which is better. But in a real workflow, the difference between 1g and 2g is minimal. Both pens are excellent as you can find digital pens with up to 30g of IAF. This, in practice, both pens allows you to perform more delicate lines and gradual shading with your drawing. Tilt SensitivityTilt recognition is a feature that allows the tablet to detect the angle of your pen. Especially for shading and calligraphy, tilt recognition can enhance the natural drawing experience. On paper, both Wacom Pro pen 3 and Huion PW600 stylus can detect tilt sensitivity up to 60 degrees. But in practical uses, the tilt sensitivity on the Wacom stylus is more stable and works better. Shortcut ButtonsNeither display comes with built-in express keys on the body, but huion includes a handy bluetooth Mini Keydial Remote K40, while wacom doesn't. It has a 30-hour battery life, a OLED screen, 8 customizable buttons, two wheels, allowing for up to 48 shortcuts across 6 groups for your favorite art software. Since it is wireless, you can place it anywhere you like or even you can hold it in your hands. For artists who like shortcut buttons and want to have them on their wacom cintiq 24, they can get the Wacom Expresskey Remote, which needs to purchased separately. Tablet StandThe wacom cintiq 24 includes a tablet stand which is fairly rugged and can tilt with 16 to 69 degrees of angle. This adds flexibility and comfort for longer workflows. Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) only has an integrated 20° stand, If you want a comfortable angle to work with for drawing, then you will need a proper adjustable stand such as Huion ST100. AccessoriesWacom usually only provide a limited number of essential accessories: adjustable tablet stand, pen, connection cable, ac adpater, 3 extra pen nibs, etc in the box. Huionis known to give a generous amount of extra accessories with their tablets. You can get two pens, an integrated 20° stand, a Wireless Keydial, drawing glove, Pen Case, 10 replacement nibs, Cleaning Cloth, etc CompatibilityBoth Cintiq pro 24 and Kamvas pro 24 (Gen 3) are compatible with main operating systems, including MacOS, Windows, and Android. It seems Kamvas pro 24 (Gen 3) is compatible with linux while wacom not, in fact, you can also use cintiq 24 with your linux computer and find the driver from their site. ConnectivityYou can connect the Cintiq 24 to your computer via a handy Single USB-C cable, and another cable connects to a power brick. Huion Kamvas pro 24 gen 3, on the other hand, provides a complete array of connection options for all types of laptops and PCs, via either Single USB-C cable, DisplayPort 1.4, or HDMI. If you choose to connect with HDMI or DisplayPort, you will also need to connect the USB-C to transmit the pen input data to your computer. Alternatively, you can choose to use only the USB-C cable as a clean single-cable solution. Driver and Tablet SettingsOnce you've got everything plugged in you'll need to download the latest Windows or MacOS drivers from their official website. The drivers allow you to set different aspects of the table including changing the button on the tablet and stylus. The driver interface of both tablets is very user-friendly so you will have no problem making any changes. In ConclusionThe 24-inch pen display monitor is a dream drawing tool for many artists that allows them to go into details very easily, and especially without straining the eyes. Both the Wacom Cintiq 24 and Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) are high-quality 24-inch display tablets, offering clear details, and vivacious colors, probably the best that money can buy. Wacom Cintiq 24 (2025) is the clear winner if we take the price into account-1,299.00. But it lack the shortcut buttons and has lower resolution compared to Huion Pro 24 (Gen 3). Huion kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) cost more at $1,399.00, but for what it offers, the Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) stands out as a capable and affordable professional tool that brings precision and creativity within reach. If money is a concern, There are a number of other cheaper 24-inch display tablets that you can look into, such as the – Huion Kamvas 24 Plus and XPPen Artist Pro 24 (Gen 2) - $899.99, which has a lower 2.5K QHD resolution. If you're the one that paints and draws from the shoulder with big arm movements and if you can afford it, consider getting one. None of them will disappoint you. |
