嬰兒潮世代進入人生下半場，正在準備退休或者已開始退休生活，此時維持財務穩定相當重要，有些人選擇調整資產配置增加現金儲備，但有4種資產被專家建議，不要輕易賣掉。
綜合外媒報導，變賣股票確保資金聽起來很有吸引力，但財富管理機構Shadowridge理財規劃師Laura Redfern強調，千萬不要向這種衝動妥協，除非真的需要大筆現金，輕易賣掉已經賺取龐大資本利得的股票或資產並不明智。
此外，輕易賣掉人壽保險單也不夠聰明，Laura Redfern認為，可能會讓你的繼承人失去你最初投保時想留給他們的經濟支持，讓指定的繼承人在你過世後獲得完整的權益，且通常賣保單可能影響領取其他福利的資格。
Laura Redfern建議，民眾徹底了解保單涵蓋的範圍與福利，如果真的需要現金，可以先暫停或延後繳納保費，利用保單中的現金借款服務，轉換保單或啟動「生前給付」的功能，提前預計身故給付金，當然詳細狀況仍有所不同。
第三，不要輕易賣掉房子。Laura Redfern認為，雖然短期獲得的現金看起來很誘人，但長遠來看不是最佳選擇，如果還申請逆向抵押貸款（Reverse Mortgage），俗稱「以房養老」雖然每月獲得生活費，但最終可能無法讓繼承人享受遺產。
第四，千萬不要賣掉具有紀念意義的物品，財富顧問Scott Sturgeon認為，為了賺快錢得不償失，如果是代代相傳的傳家寶，與其變賣，不如考慮贈送給朋友或家人，確保這些傳統或家族的一部分在未來世代中延續下去。
