１９９８年，４５歲的康與音樂鬼才巨星王子（Prince）的NPG唱片公司簽約，

７月發行第九張大碟［Come 2 My House／來我的屋子］．

製作群包括王子，Howard McCrary，Robert D. Palmer，Ricky Peterson，夏卡康．

康參與所有１３首歌共同製作

王子參與１０首創作，１２首歌曲共同製作人．

風格多元，融合放克、溫柔民謠、福音、嘻哈和重低音節拍，獲得良好評價．

 

首支單單曲［Spoon／湯匙］

由夏卡康，王子， Howard McCrary，羅伯帕默（Robert Palmer）合寫．

Howard McCrary＋羅伯帕默製作成一首嘻哈／R&B／放克，

在中板的節拍中，康已相當節制的唱腔低調演繹

羅伯帕默並擔任歌曲中電話音男聲．

可是大眾反應冷漠，［Spoon／湯匙］未打入美國告示牌任何榜單．

 

連帶大碟［Come 2 My House］也銷售悽慘，未擠入美國告示牌專輯榜，

只拿到副榜──R&B專輯榜＃４９．根據Nielsen SoundScan統計系統，到２００５年為止，［Come 2 My House］僅賣出７．６萬張．
