明媚的春天賞意象詩

美國意象派派女詩人蒂絲黛兒(S Teasdale)

Teasdale 是與意象派詩人龐德(E. Pond)和羅威爾(Amy Lowell)同時期的女詩人，但因體弱多病，不太介入意象派的活動中，是比較小名聲的古典詩人。T. 的生活背景養成她日後創作詩的自語式風格，但有特定的對象和讀者，讀者則有普遍化的現象。

下面這首詩表達她一貫的主題 : 生死問題、季節的更迭、自然的轉變、感情的失落、以及面對自然變化之際，應變的心情與意義。除了使用簡單直接的意象之外，也追求象徵主義的奇幻想像，以及主體的經驗表達。

當我死時，明媚的四月在我墓上

She is a lyric poetess, being good at writing classical theme with a classical simplicity and quiet intensity.  Her poems appeal to a classical minds reading.

"Flame and Shadow"(《火焰與陰影》1920) is considered as one of her best poetry collections.  The critic notes : T. has found the philosophy of life and death；having "grown intellecturally", displaying "growth in artistry" It is a book to read with reverence of joy.
