http://dakotalapse.com/?page_id=400 During the month of May, I shot Milky Way timelapse in central South Dakota, when I had the time, and the weather cooperated. The biggest challenge was cloudy nights and the wind. There were very few nights, when I could shoot, that were perfectly clear, and often the wind was blowing 25mph +. That made it hard to get the shots I wanted. I kept most of the shots low to the ground, so the wind wouldn't catch the setup and cause camera shake, or blow it over. I used a Stage Zero Dolly on the dolly shots and a "Milapse" mount on the panning ones. NASA's Swift satellite has acquired the highest-resolution view of the neighboring spiral galaxy M31. Also known as the Andromeda Galaxy, M31 is the largest and closest such galaxy to our own. It's more than 220,000 light-years across and lies 2.5 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. Between May 25 and July 26, 2008, Swift's Ultraviolet/Optical Telescope (UVOT) acquired 330 images of M31 at wavelengths of 192.8, 224.6, and 260 nanometers. The images represent a total exposure time of 24 hours. Some 20,000 ultraviolet sources are visible in the image, including M32, a small galaxy in orbit around M31. Dense clusters of hot, young, blue stars sparkle in the disk beyond the galaxy's smooth, redder central bulge. Star clusters are especially plentiful along a ring about 150,000 light-years across.

★何謂銀河?
A:太陽系位於銀河系之中,因為銀河系是扁平狀的,向上看和向下看,都使銀河系外的宇宙,星星距離遠,看起來比較稀疏;而向左右看時,是銀河系本身,星體比較近,看起來比較密集,於是在天空形成有一條密集的星帶,叫做銀河。
巨 大 的 圓 盤 → 銀 河 銀河呈漩渦狀,並從其中心部分伸出徐許多類似動物觸手的漩渦狀伸長物,這些漩渦狀觸手所及的空間加上中心部分,就構成巨大的圓盤。其中心部分的半徑是15,000光年左右。包括核心在內的整個圓盤面,就稱為"銀河面"。 數千個直徑約10光年由恆星聚集而成的散開星團及新星,都被納於此圓盤中。 另外,中央的球形空間內,散佈著球狀星團及稀薄的氫氣,此即所謂的 " 暈輪 "。暈輪以15萬光年的直徑橫跨於銀河空間內,而氫氣則能散佈到更遠的地方,形成雲系間的氣層。 銀河系並非呈銀河狀態,它以核為中心作緩慢的自轉運動。自轉一次需時2.5億年,也就是藉著這種回轉的力量,銀河才會呈漩渦狀。
銀 河 中 的 太 陽 系 大約在50億年前,距離銀河系中心約3萬光年的漩渦狀觸手→獵戶座星際物質(所謂星系物質是飄浮在恆星與恆星間的稀薄氣體及煙狀粒子)中誕生了一顆星球,它就是太陽。 就是同個時期,此部分產生了比別處星間密度更大的星間雲。銀河系的回轉力,就是產生這種星間雲的原動力。這和水面上的漩渦將雜物集中在一處的原理相同。 星間雲本身因接受銀河系的旋轉力而不斷地旋轉。同時牽動周圍的氣層和層埃。隨著質量的增大,星雲間也因本身的質量而逐漸收縮。同時,在星雲間的內部,由氫氣變為氦氣的原子核反應也愈發劇烈,使得由外向內的壓擠力量,與內部向外爆發的力量得以平衡。 就如上敘情形,銀河系中被稱為原始太陽雲的星間雲,不斷收縮並發出亮光,最後形成了太陽。。。。。
