川普日前對中強硬說法，郭育仁指出，川普有高度「權變原則」，他不認為川普反中，而是只要損害美國利益，他就不喜歡，他要美國最直接的利益。亞太基金會執行長林文程表示，美中競爭關係升高是一定的，不論是主流民意、美國民眾及學者都顯示出對中強硬態度；美國過去「想要當老大」，中國未來也會這樣做，把美國趕出亞洲，「他要當老大」，推動「亞洲門羅主義」，因此中美競爭關係必定升高。
