I read the book first time in preliminary school, and certainly it was a Chinese abridged version in storytelling style.  In college days, I read the full Chinese version and watched the movie adapted from this great novel.  But I have never read the original one written by Charles Dickens.

Now we have a good chance to read it by listening to the narrated version of the book, though, I believe, it is still an abridged one so long as over two hours.
