Recently, both of the "Graduate Institute in National Development" of Taiwan University (NTU) and Peking University are running themselves into trouble because of the incidents of fake academic degrees.

The nominee for DPP who is running next mayor of Taoyuan, that blue-eyed boy of Cai, has been found plagiarism in his thesis for the master’s degree conferred by NTU.  But I don’t think that blatant plagiarism will hurt DPP much; anyway, their "president" boasts of the sheer nonexistent doctor degree of hers, and DPP supporters care less about it.

By contrast, I think the incident related with Peking University is more serious.  Please read the reportage first at:

Why didn’t the Ministry of Education and Peking University verify the basic credentials provided by that "professor".  Is that hard to find out  in the first place that her doctor degree given by a "pheasant" university, or bought from a diploma factory?  Any plausible explanation?  People need one.

Maybe that plagiarist has ability to run a city, and no matter how that "professor" has demonstrated her capability of doing excellent jobs in different fields, fake qualification is absolutely a dirty mark for them and the whole education system.
