Several years ago a TV "pundit" taunted China Mainland that people there could hardly afford tea-marinated eggs. Such a joke had gradually become a ridicule signifying the tunnel vision of those "Taiwanese frogs under the well". Now the joke may become a reality in Taiwan. After ten-day gurantine at home, yesterday I went out to buy some daily necessities at a convenience store in my neighborhood. It surprised me to find the price of the egg is now TWD18 each, soaring from TWD10 ten months ago when I left for the States. Oh my goodness!
