The other day 18-years-old Emma Raducanu from UK won the women single championship in US Open, one of Grand Slams. The young lady has become the first women grand slam player ever (or an any players ever, I am not sure.) playing from qualifying to the final and won the title.  More amazingly, she did not lose a single set throughout all the matchups, all 2-0.  Emma is a hybrid girl who was born to a Romanian father and a Chinese mother, coming from Shenyang, Liaoning Province; so, Emma can speak Northeastern-accented Mandarin.

What interests me more is the reaction of Chinese netizens towards the success of a young lady with half Chinese blood.  Almost none of the netizens show any excitement or reflected glory toward Emma because her Chinese blood.  Some even say that not until Emma admits she is Chinese herself, people should regard her at most as a genius young lady and wish her every happiness, that is it.

In case, just in case, Emma was born to a Chinese mother from Taiwan (or a Taiwanese mother, whatever), then I cannot imagine how high the spirit of the islanders will go, as high as on cloud nine?
