內人與我,在7月21日從Houston 出發,首先飛到Paris. 在CDG 機場稍停幾小時後,継續飛往丹麥的Copenhagen. 由於飛機到達時間比旅遊團的機場到旅館的巴士班次稍晚,我們就自己乘計程車去旅館了。
到了旅館沒有多久,就是歡迎報到的晚餐聚會, 並且和這次旅遊團的導遊先生以及同團的遊客見面認識。導遊是Mr. John Jennings (from London, UK). 一位三十出頭的年輕人。首站是Copenhagen, 停留兩天。這個城市,從小就常常聽到的哥本哈根,是一個老舊的港口城市。市區的樓房,多是五層樓的老建築物。市區看來是觀光客居多,特色是許多當地居民都騎腳踏車代步, 尤其是許多穿著整齊,時髦漂亮的金髮美女,她們也是騎著腳踏車上下班或是外出購物。丹麥政府認為汽車是luxury, 所以要加180%的重稅。一來可以減少車輛耗油量,再來可以使市區交通不至於過份的擁擠。實在是很好的政策。當然腳踏車有專用道,相对來説,行人是要特別小心穿越車道。
兩天的停留,天氣對當地人來說,算是熱浪了。溫度高達28C,在陽光下,的確是有些熱,在陰凉處是OK 的。所到之處,在此上貼幾張照片,就不再詳細敘述了。总之,Copenhagen, 是到處可以見到觀光客的一座老城市。全城也沒有幾棟高樓,我們住的旅館Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel 算是其中之一。

Day 1 – Friday 22nd July
Began in the Denmark’s capital of Copenhagen with a welcome reception, dinner and a trip out to Tivoli Gardens on a busy Friday night in the city.
Day 2
Local Expert Anita took us on a sightseeing tour, saw Royal family home at Amalienborg Palace and the Little Mermaid statue and walked through the centre of the city on an unusually hot day!
(Afternoon at leisure or North Zealand excursion…plus Traditional Danish Dinner of Roast Pork & Carlsberg Elephant Gate).
Day 3
(Free Morning or trip out to the pretty fishing village of Dragør)
Out to Roskilde and the Cathedral in the afternoon with Anita as the heatwave continued.
Day 4
Drove over the Oresund Bridge from Denmark over to Sweden, into the Skane region…past Lake Vattern and into the beautiful Swedish capital of Stockholm and walked into the Gamla Stan (old town) for dinner.

Day 5
Local Expert Inga took us sightseeing including in Gamla Stan and through the massive City Hall, home to Nobel Prize banquet.
(Vasa Warship Museum) Free afternoon (Swedish Summer Dinner with ferry through the Stockholm archipelago out to Langa Raden restaurant on Orminglandet island).
Day 6
North of Stockholm to see more of Sweden…tiny Sigtuna once Viking capital on lake Malaren and saw ruins of St. Olaf’s Church.
Onto university city of Uppsala and inside Uppsala Cathedral.
Saw giant Dala Horse into Dalarna country.
Staying in Falun for the night with the American Vintage Car festival happening! (Carl Larsson’s Farm in Sundborn).
Day 7
Saw Falun Mine Great Pit… further into Sweden’s Dalarna region, home of the Dala Horse and visited a workshop near lake Siljan. Through the countryside of the Vasaloppet cross country skiing race and stopped in Salen before crossed the border into Norway!
Staying in Lillehammer, home of 1994 Winter Olympics on Lake Mjosa.
Day 8
Through the countryside of “Peer Gynt” – words of Henrik Ibsen and music of Edvard Grieg. Spectacular Norway really began today with waterfalls and rushing water of rivers and big mountains with snowy peaks.
Stopped in Lom and had a taste of Norway Picnic with brown cheese & crispy bread. Went inside the medieval wooden Stave Church.

Amazing end to the day arriving on Route 63 from above 1,000m and descending down into Geiranger – with a cruise on the most amazing of all the fjords – Geirangerfjord.
Buffet to enjoy that evening at the Union Hotel.
Day 9
(Trolls Road drive with The Stig! Beautiful day continuing on Route 63 up Eagles’ Road, ferry across at Eidsdal, past Strawberry Fields after Valldal, Gudbrandsjuvet ravine, Billy Goat’s Gruff bridge - before arriving at the ridiculous Trollstigen (Trolls’ Ladder) of 11 hairpin bends built in the 1930s).

Day 10
Driving through much more of Norway’s incredible scenery – past Lake Oppstrynsvatnet, stopping in Stryn, along Innviksfjorden and up into the Jostealbreen National Park region known for it’s glaciers and saw Boyabreen Glacier.
Went exploring and found Supphellebreen Glacier & tasted Norwegian Linie Aquavit – matured at sea crossing the equator twice!
Glacier museum and stayed in Sogndal for the evening on Norway’s longest and deepest… Sognefjord.
Day 11
Crossed Sognefjord by ferry, went through Laerdal Tunnel – the longest road tunnel in the world enjoying a 70s Disco and enjoying the 3 blue lit caverns.
Took the Flam Railway upwards past many waterfalls stopping at Kjosfossen with the girl dancing. Changed trains at Myrdal and arrived in Voss to rejoin the coach.
We visited brother and sister Ulla and Heidi owners of Steinsto Fruktgard (Fruit Farm) and tasted their apple cake and cider.
Made our way to Norway’s 2nd city of Bergen on the western coast, staying next to historic harbour area of Bryggen.
Day 12
City Sightseeing with Magda into the Bryggen area by foot and around the city.
(Edvard Grieg’s home of Trolhaugen with concert and funicular 320m up Mount Floyen).
Free afternoon & evening.
Day 13
Last drive day together. Stopped in Voss again & up into the Hardangervidda plateau and through the Telemark region and into the Norwegian capital of Oslo.
(Walked into Aker Brygge area in the evening).
Day 14 – Thursday 4th August
City Sightseeing with Anne including into the Frogmar Park to see Gustav Vigeland sculptures and into the Viking Ship Museum with a free afternoon.
(Arctic Explorer’s Optional visiting the Fram museum).
Celebration Dinner at Bristol Hotel to end a spectacular tour of Scandinavia.
