Green Card holders who live and make money in other countries need to file (1) 2555 Form (2) IRS Form 1040: Schedule B, Part III (3) TDF90-22.1: Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (4) Form 8288: U.S. Withholding Tax Return for Dispositions by Foreign Persons of U.S. Real Property Interests (5) IRS Form 3520: U.S. Informational Return – Creation of or transfers to Certain Foreign Trusts  For those of you who has Green Card, but work in a foreign country, there is relief for double taxation.  It is called foreign earned income exclusion. For the  $87,600 foreign income exclusion, it depends on how many days you live in another country.  The longer you live in another country, the higher your exclusion amount will be.  This is a courtesy of IRS to encourage U.S. citizens and Green Card holders to work in other countries.  But, there is a contradiction in immigration law.  You have to live in the U.S. for a certain number of days a year, otherwise you will lose your Green Card. For those of you who has Green Card, but do not live in the U.S., I strongly recommend that you have an experienced CPA to file your tax for you.
