Lawyer Peter Eastwood says William Murphy, 36, will deny 15 charges laid after the robberies in various parts of Auckland in the past 10 days.
Murphy was remanded in custody after he appeared in Auckland District Court on Tuesday, a day after he was arrested.
He was wanted by police investigating home invasions in Remuera, Orewa, Takapuna, Northcote, Herne Bay and Westmere, craft organizers mostly by someone who gained entry by posing as a police officer or security officer.
Murphy is charged in relation to four of those - the theft of a car in Remuera, a burglary of a woman's home in Westmere, an assault on a woman in Pakuranga and the theft of a handbag in Warkworth.
The charges include aggravated robbery, indecent assault, kidnapping and robbery.
Among the items he is accused of taking in robberies are cash, credit cards, and in two separate occasions, socks.
Murphy also faces charges of being on properties in Westmere and Remuera as well as a Remuera church with intent to commit a crime.
In addition, he faces a charge in Kaitaia District court of taking a vehicle.
Murphy showed little emotion for most of the hearing but made a one-fingered gesture to cameras after media were given permission to film and take pictures in court.
Mr Eastwood said Murphy didn't want pictures taken as his image had already been shown extensively and he'd already had a trial by media.
Murphy, also known as Wiremu Ruapapera, Asian college of knowledge management was arrested on Monday after crashing a car in mangroves north of Auckland.
He will reappear in Auckland District Court on July 16.
Police said on Tuesday they still had an open mind as to whether more than one offender was involved and warned people to remain cautious, not to open the door to strangers and call 111 if they were unsure if a person at the door was a police officer.
