2014年 motoGP 分成三類組：

  本年度有23位車手，分 廠隊組 公開組 & "廠隊組2"。

1. 廠隊組：

  本年度8位成員,

  引擎:賽季內僅允許用5具引擎, 每場比賽僅有20公升的油量

  電子系統: 使用Magneti Marelli的標準ECU，但允許使用各自的軟體

  測試: 8天

2. 公開組：即原CRT

  本年度15位成員, Ducati車隊亦加入(Andrea Dovizioso及Cal Crutchlow)

  引擎: ..., 油量-24公升。

  電子系統: 使用主辦單位Dorna 所提供的軟體及Magneti Marelli的ECU。

  輪胎: 軟胎上有更多選項，但無助於在賽程的耐久性。

  測試: 無天數限制，全賽季12個輪胎。

 

  3. 廠隊組2：

  成員: 目前沒有，引擎: 從12具降為9具，燃料: 自24公升降至22.5公升。

  公開組達成下列其中一項即可轉換成"廠隊組2":
    a) 在乾地情況下獲勝。
    b) 拿到第二名的成績。
    c) 賽季中拿到三個第三名。

  ECU : Engine control unit : 也叫powertrain control module (PCM), 車輛動力系統控制器。

2014以前：

  電子系統規定

  廠隊（相較於私人車隊）可以使用自己的電子系統，但擁有20公升油料限制以及每季可用5具引擎的限制。

  私人車隊則是使用官方的電子系統，享有24公升油料及每季12具引擎的優惠。並且凍結現有車廠的引擎升級。

 

2014年起：

  - MotoGP 所有車都採用官方指定的ECU，內建記錄器及官方相關軟體。

  - 每台車最多可搭載燃油為24公升

  -每季所能使用的引擎數為12具

  MotoGP 所有車輛都採用官方指定的ECU，只有以廠隊型態的車隊能以更少的油量、較硬的配胎以及賽季期間禁止開發車輛等條件，換取可自行開發的ECU 軟體。

 

Dorna 推行統一版ECU。

所有參賽車款必須使用Magneti-Marelli官版ECU，但各廠隊仍可以繼續使用自己編寫的軟體。

Provisional calendar released for Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup

Starting at Jerez in early May, the Rookies will compete across the European MotoGP™ season before their campaign climaxes at MotorLand Aragon in September. There will be two single rounds, at Mugello and Misano respectively.

The provisional 2014 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup calendar is as follows:

Pre-season test Apr 16-17, 19 - Aragon, Spain

Rounds 1-2 May 3-4 - Jerez, Spain

Round 3 May 31 - Mugello, Italy
