君悅漂亮廳,存在主義新體驗

我很少去五星級飯店的餐廳。

因為既非住客圖方便,大多又沒好到特別走一遭。飯店的附設餐廳排場大,其實東西也不會太差,但是價位都高,同樣的價格好好尋找一番可以找到不錯的小館,實惠美味但少了些裝潢。

這次君悅的吃食經驗也一樣,印證我之前的想法。會想去漂亮飲茶,乃是因為接受雜誌的採訪,去義大利廳 ZigaZaga 一趟,對他們的餐點印象還不差,後來同行的友人提到漂亮廳的飲茶,很不錯。

終於這天跟朋友約好來嘗試看看。內部的擺設典雅,碗盤整齊排列,介紹上說 漂亮廳的名字來自一位來自上海的貴婦”漂亮”女士,透過餐廳的擺設佈景來回憶亡故的夫婿
Hyatt Pearl Liang Inside

送上的沾醬有三款,XO 醬,辣椒醬,青辣椒香菜醬,還有糖炒的腰果。
Tea Snacks

茶壺也別出心裁,茶杯是玻璃製,外圍圈以金屬防破裂。
Tea Pot and Glass

一品瑤柱雞粥料豐富,除了雞與干貝以外,還有蝦與各色海鮮。粥燉得不見米粒,惜調味清淡了些。
Chicken& Scallop Congee

鮮蝦韭黃腸粉相較於吉品的,皮厚了一點,蝦還算新鮮。
Rice Roll with Shrimp

而炸的腐皮捲火候還可以,不過不失,當然比起印象中最好的腐皮捲仍有差距,但還算接受。
Shrimp Tofu Skin Roll

素餃包成葉片狀,這是一道非常無存在感的點心,完全不記得裡面包的餡是什麼,只知道是燙麵做的麵皮。
Vegetable Dumpling

包成三角形的水晶野菇餃,透明的蕃薯粉皮裡面包裹數種蔬菜做的內餡,美麗矣但卻也沒有印象而忘記。
Mushroom Dumpling

翡翠蝦餃黃裡面有整隻蝦,味道工整還可以,不過,師傅們也太粗魯了吧,蒸籠都變形了說~
Shrimp Dumpling

北菇滑燒賣內餡是極大的肉丁,反而蝦的比例較少。我是海鮮控,比較不欣賞這款做法。
Saumai with Crab Roe

蠔油鳳爪也是一般般,做得不差,但也非特別。
Chicken Feet

金絲龍蝦捲大概比我的手指粗一點點而已,如果有沒吃過龍蝦的人來吃這道,一定會認為龍蝦的味道大概跟美乃滋差不多吧 @@ !
Lobster Roll

很快的一輪上完,我堅信我跟友人絕非豬牛虎獅食量,但是怎麼還覺得… 有點淡淡的空虛… 所以又點了蘿蔔糕與叉燒酥。

Daikon Cake

好像很容易吃完,這時看到我們市長先生走進包廂,不知道要吃什麼大餐呢,我想,絕對不會是飲茶。

後記: 寫完這篇以後,我突然回想起前陣子吃的數家飲茶,包括神旺潮品集,吉品敦南與信義,還有粵華軒。除了跟”養尊處優小姐”去吃的吉品敦南店特別招待餐以外,皆是食物入口後毫無印象,要我說難吃嘛也說不出來,但是要說好吃也說不出口。可能這些店已經都達到某個標準了,所以很快的吃光以後,也不會去檢討到底好吃在哪裡。也許應該挑些普通難吃的店,來refresh 一下味蕾,重新拾回爆炸般的感動…以及想砸店的衝動 :P

愜意酒鬼因為接受雜誌採訪才去君悅,我這個升斗小民也一樣;我去五星級飯店吃飯,多半都是因為洽公餐敘,食物好壞已不是重點,生意談成,什麼都好吃,談得不順利,根本不知在吃什麼...........

會自掏腰包去只有參加聚餐或去吃米其林客座,由於我對食物既沒天份亦無品味,而且因為是自己付錢,我通常會自我催眠,讓自己覺得什麼都好吃,哇哈哈哈哈!

吉品的點心我也覺得真的很好吃,不知台北哪裡還有好吃的飲茶點心? 此外,漂亮的套餐我覺得很好吃ㄚ,酒款也不錯,很適合洽公餐敘。

同感!

不過因為在國外吃多了,米其林客座有時候不盡滿意,大部分都是 over-priced 。而且因為是自己付錢,更會挑剔,什麼都不好吃! 哇哈哈哈。

現在還沒找到大勝吉品的飲茶點心,如果萬一發現了一定會通報。

Hi Clara,

Thank you for your offer. I will give it a thought.

I guess my problem is that I don't have enough of discipline to maintain a blog because the work I am doing. I travel awfully a lot. Like today, I am working in Australia and not very easy to access internet.

Anyway I will seriously think about it. Afterall, food is my passion and I do work with food. It makes sense to be a part of it. I will reply when I am back to New Zealand.

Hi Barry
To be a co-contributor is best choice for your situation since you don't need to write the blog only yourself but with other people.
You don't need to worry about the details, for example, the page styles, the layouts, my friends and i will take about it. All you need to do is just post your article, even no photos is okay.

The flavor has gone for a long time
I guess currently, the best dim sum u can get in the san gabriel valley
or... the whole LA would be Elite, on Atlantic, Monterey park
btw, Elite's chef is from Sea Harbor

Hi Clara,

Where is Sea Harbour you were refering to?

Cantonese yum char culture is becoming so popular all over the world. I have a interesting theory. Cantonese started migrating to other countries at very early stage, perhaps the earliest. It makes them very well established in where they migrated to. Of course, I am NOT surprised if they have advantage to dominant Chinese food market.

I often see a group of European go to yum char restaurants without any Chinese companions. You can tell how popular it is.

Recently I am thinking about writing something in this food blog. The fact that I can't type Chinese puts me off. I am not sure if people would like to spend time to read through articles written in English. Hope that day will come soon.

Oh, i mistaken you as another Barry who lives in Los Angeles.

May be you can join my other blog as co-contributor, i have an English blog which allows more than 1 contributor.
The reason why i made it is because i have lots of foreign friends, they all complain they couldn't read my article. But i really don't have time to maintain 2 blogs, this one already made me so busy. If you like to change the blog name, it is okay as well.

去飲茶、或是去吃點心,哪有直接說去『吃飲茶』的...

據說做工繁複, 很多點心師父都不做了.

Hi Clara (hope the spelling is correct),

This is my first attempt to leave a few words in your blog. You are the reason I am addicted to this food blog - in a good way. I like your style - direct, honest, sharp and not caring what people think about your comments.

I only enjoy occasional dining in up-market restaurants. Sometimes food in this kind of restaurant can be disappointing, but what you ask for is the whole dining experience, including ambiance and services, not just the food itself. I am very surprised that they used shabby steam ware considering it's a up-market restaurant. This is kind of detail is what I would like to see when dining out.

Again, really enjoy your articles

Hi Barry

Yes, i was really surprised, maybe it is the only memorable thing in the restaurant. All steamware look old, compare to the deco, it is quite funny.
Maybe their major customers used to order shark fin or something expensive, so they don't care about the dim-sum service.

Maybe next time you can recommand some, i went to sea harbour in Rosemead in 2006, but it is not as good as before.... kinda disappointed.

在五星級飯店吃飯真的就是妳說的那種感覺

不難吃但也沒特別好吃,只有買單時會讓我印象深刻

遠東飯店的飲茶也是不怎麼樣,上次去吃時好像人手不夠,請都請不來

我們還沒吃完就決定不會再來了,哈哈

講到吉品,生意很好耶!

訂除夕餐(我弟那個阿陸仔想吃龍鮑翅),已經排到第二輪了

8點半才能吃飯,真是折騰人啊

可以先吃小吃墊胃先,然後再吃大餐呀,而且這樣還省錢呢!!
