首先 讓我們查一查「祖國」一詞的定義。

六世紀時 很多歐洲人 移民到 美洲新大陸，
他們創造了 mother country 一詞。 依據
線上字典 Merriam-Webster 的定義 "mother
country" 是指 "the country of ones
parents or ancestors"。翻成中文 就是：
「祖國 是指 父母親的國家 或 祖先的國家。」
這個用法 充滿了 移民色彩，當然 祖國一詞
也包含 一個人的出生之國。

　　依據網路上 多個祖國的定義，我列出了幾
個國家 可能作為 台灣人的祖國。
　　一）中華民國，
　　二）大清帝國，
　　三）日本國，
　　四）中華人民共和國。
　　此處 我們 只討論 漢族的祖國，新住民
未考量。

　　第一個祖國是 中華民國，由於 大部分的
台灣人 出生的國 父母的國 都是 中華民國，
所以 大部分台灣人的祖國 都是 中華民國。

　　台灣 在清朝時 割讓給 日本，中華民國
於 1912年成立，並未統治 台灣。有一部分
台灣人 不是很認同 中華民國，他們 可以將
大清帝國 作為 祖先的國家，這符合 祖國的
定義。

　　同樣的原因，不認同 中華民國者，可以將
日本國 作為 父母的國家，這也符合 祖國的定
義。

　　最後，由於 台灣人的出生的國 父母的國
祖先的國 都不是 中華人民共和國，所以 中
華人民共和國 絕對不是 台灣人的祖國。但是
大陸配偶的出生國 當然是 中華人民共和國。

　　同樣的定義 也可以用來分析 大陸同胞的
祖國，百分之九十九的大陸人的父母的國 祖先
的國就是 中華民國。
