掙扎的蟑螂

在一個繁忙的公廁，

我看見一隻大型蟑螂，

仰背六腳朝天，

躺在污穢的地上。

牠掙扎，再掙扎，

努力，再努力；

既無法翻身，

也無能爬起。

早上我見牠

在那兒掙扎。

中午見其

仍在原地努力。

傍晚再去，

仍見其

繼續掙扎！

企圖爬起。

A Struggling Cockroach

I saw a rather big cockroach

in a very busy restroom,

lying with its legs in the air

on the filthy floor.

It strived and struggled,

exerted, endeavored,

but couldn’t get up

or turn over.

I saw it strive there

in the morning,

exert there

at noon.

Still struggling!

In the evening!

When I last went

to that room.
