The human brain has been estimated to have 2 petabytes of capacity, which is equivalent of 1000 2TB hard drives. It probably takes industry less than 10 years to commercialize 2-PB hard disks. By the time we consumers can afford one of these, we may say that each of these 2-PB drives may store one's life's work in it. Of course, the disk sectors on such 2-PB hard drives won't be as connected as human brains. There are one billion neurons inside the brain and each neuron has ~1000 synapses connecting to each other.
