1990年6月7日 28歲的日本歌壇天后松田聖子(Seiko Matsuda)正式進軍美國,推出事業第17張專輯──也是第二張英文專輯〔Seiko/聖子〕(CBS SONY發行)
從1989年起 聖子便專心待在美國籌備這張大碟
SONY動員旗下諸多美國大牌製作人與歌手為其作嫁

〔Seiko〕登上日本專輯榜亞軍 榜上銷售19万2330,總銷售30萬張
名列1982年日本最暢銷專輯#70
根據SONY資料,盈利的轉折點是30萬張專輯銷量。
結果,專輯銷量在日本本土已達此數字(30萬張),
北美和歐洲達到了 15萬張,在東南亞達到了 7萬張
整體來說 全球表現中等成功
