〈人間四月天〉
The Song of April

最愛綠窗深夜時，
Sitting by the green window, midnight is my most
favorite moment,

煢燈靜讀志摩幽。
With a dim light, quietly read on Zi-Mo Hsu’s articles.

人間四月起情思，
April is very particular, a season triggering romantic
memories of worldly life.

憶昔情綺夢悠悠。
Upon recalled, lasting love in the past still remains
a beautiful dream. 

「禪詩」的範圍較為廣泛是所有求道悟道的人，
「學詩渾似學參禪」，所吟所詠，在生活的妙悟中，
  無邊的光景，一時之間化成新鮮的滋味。

Introduction of Painting:

While the Impressionist painters are learning from the Japanese
techniques, Japanese painters such as Kuroda Seiki were
influenced by Impressionism. In his painting Reading, Kuroda
Seiki shows a young European girl seated near a window.

She is concentrating on her reading and her right hand is about
to turn the page. Her clothing of red and blue stands out against
the pale yellow background. Kuroda has used a soft tone of
yellow to show light that is a crucial part of the Impressionist
movement.

On careful observation of her face, we can see highlights of
white that represents light streaming from the window. Another
important Impressionist influence is the brushwork. Impressionist
brush strokes appears to be quick with large visible strokes. 
Here the quick and rough Impressionist brushwork can be seen
in the clothing that critics would consider unfinished.
