Unit 6 Success and Failure

 

  1. 1.          adapt (v.) 適應to change your ideas or behavior to fit a new situation
  2. 2.          anxiety (n.) 焦慮fear or nervousness about what might happen      
  3. 3.          associate (with)(v.) 聯想to think of one person or thing when you think of another person or thing
  4. 4.          biological        (adj.) 生物的of or relating to the characteristics of living things      
  5. 5.          community(n.) 社群 a group of people who have the same interests, religion, race, etc.
  6. 6.          compel (v.) 迫使to force (someone) to do something
  7. 7.          consequently (adv.) 結果as a result
  8. 8.          drive (v.)驅使 to compel or urge 
  9. 9.          in time (phrase) 最後; 終於eventually      
  10. 10.      manage   (v.) 設法to handle and take care of (something) with a degree of skill     
  11. 11.      minimize (v.) 最小化to make something as small as it can be
  12. 12.      move on (phrase) 前進to start to continue with your life after you have had a bad experience     
  13. 13.      outcome (n.) 結果a final product or end result; consequence
  14. 14.      persistent (adj.) 堅持的continuing to do something or to try even though it is difficult
  15. 15.      refine (v.) 精煉to improve (something) by making small changes
  16. 16.      reluctant        (adj.) 勉強的not willing or eager to do something    
  17. 17.      remind(v.) 提醒to cause (a person) to remember     
  18. 18.      reputation (n.)聲譽 the opinion people have about someone or something
  19. 19.      satisfaction(n.)滿足 a happy or pleased feeling because of something that you did or something that happened to you
  20. 20.      willing (adj.)樂意的 happy to do something voluntarily, helpful, cooperative
