12A Vocabulary Definitions

cliff 懸崖 (n.) a high steep face of a rock

feat 壯舉(n.) an extraordinary act or achievement    

tightly  緊實地 (adv.) very closely; strongly fixed or held

thrill 悸動     (n.) a sudden feeling of excitement and pleasure

tow  (v.) to pull by a rope, chain, or other device

Courage 勇氣 (n.) the ability to do something that you know is difficult or dangerous

engine 引擎(n.) a machine that converts energy into mechanical force or motion

steer 引導; 駕駛; 航行 (v.) to guide or control the movement (of a vehicle)

fantastic 奇妙的   (adj.) extraordinarily good    

motivate 引發動機 (v.) to give (someone) a reason for doing something

 

12B Vocabulary Definitions

depth 深度   (n.) the quality of being deep; deepness

conquer 成功地克服   (v.) to successfully overcome 

necessity 必須      (n.) something that you must have or do      

ease 自在      (v.) to allow (something) to move, act, or flow freely  

ascent 上升   (n.) the act of moving upward

block 阻隔    (v.) to stop (someone or something) from moving through or going by

disappoint 失望   (v.) feeling sad, unhappy or displeased because something was not as good as expected

exhilarated 十分高興地     (adj.) very happy and excited

out of time 太遲  (phrase) time limit is used up; too late 

relatively  相對地       (adv.) when compared to others
