10 A Vocabulary Definitions

host 主持 (v.) to receive or entertain guests

absorb 吸收   (v.) to draw or take in    

unstoppable 無法停止的 (adj.) not able to be stopped      

exceed超越 (v.) to go beyond the limit of (something)      

unexpected 難以預期的 (adj.) not expected; unforeseen; surprising

crack 斷裂 (n.) a break without complete separation of parts

slide 滑動 (v.) to move smoothly along a surface while maintaining continuous contact with it

critical 危急的; 臨界點的 (adj.) of or relating to a turning point or specially important juncture

consequence 結果 (n.) a result or effect of something       

shift 移動 (v.) to move or to cause (something) to move to a different place

urgently 緊急地   (adv.) calling for immediate attention; pressing

sufficient 足夠的 (adj.) adequate for the purpose; enough    

starve 飢餓   (v.) to suffer or die from hunger 

corporation    公司 (n.) a large business or organization united as one body      

(a) living (n.) 生活所需an income sufficient to live on or the means of earning it

bill 帳單; 支票     (n.) a statement of money owed for goods or services supplied

fund 提供資金 (v.) to provide with money for a particular purpose

quantity 數量(n.) a particular amount of something

resource 資源 (n.) a source of supply, especially that can be drawn upon when needed  

plant 工廠     (n.) a building or factory where something is made
