Yes, it is me. What a pleasant surprise to hear from you!!

Sorry, I can write in Chinese here, but it is bit too slow as I do not have the symbols inscribed on my computer keyboard. Well, in fact, I am just too lazy. :-P

It is really exciting to recieve so many emails in such a short period of time from old mates. Gee, it's almost two decades since we graduated from university. I admit that I was tempted to write the mail to everyone, but I hesitate as I haven't written anything for nearly 8 years. Having read so many outstanding emails from our classmates, I really have no confidence at all to compose an appropriate letter that can be worth-reading for others.

Thanks to Wan-ju, actually I am a fan of your blog. You do sound more mature and insightful from your articles, though never losing your great sense of humour.

How's life in Jarkata? To be honest, now it's getting more unbearable for me to stay in Taiwan due to the heat wave, especially in summer. I remember one time when I returned home in early May, it was already 30 degrees on some odd days. Goodness me, I couldn't wait to get away as I was not able to deal with the perspirations soaking me all over for the whole day.

Don't worry, you are not alone, I also have reached to the 80s early this year in weight (just slightly over the mark), even though now I am trying to downsize my "swollen belly". For details, please check with Wan-ju.

I tried to send you my birthday wishes to you via E-card last year, but for some reason, the mail was bounced back (not this one sent from you).

And I guess one thing I need to apologise to you that I might have let you down as I never could realise the "dream" you weaved for us earlier to write a book about the stories of two cities, in both Chinese and English.

Man, should I show up or not? This is really a tough decision for me. Sigh!!

Hey, Kiwis mate Women worry about white hair and men worry about hair line decline. It's so fair!! Wish we don't need to wait another 10 years to meet at the 30th anniversary. I can dye my hair and you can wear the fake hair. Hahaha! Take care.

To "un-obese" Lisa First of all, I live on the other side of the Tasman Sea, not where Mr Crocodile Dundee comes from, not the "Aussies" (it should be Yung-hsien Liao who lives in Melbourne), but you may call the people here "Kiwis". Well, it is natural to put on some weight at my age, so I don't care much about this. The problem is, I found my hair line from my forehead started seriously receding in the last couple years. This is really depressing. Sigh! We just had the coldest day here, according to the weather report, it was minus 2 degrees early this morning. I could see the forst on the lawns all over the park. Of course, it's nothing compared to the snow in Vancouver. I experienced my first encounter with the snow there during the Christmas in 95 (or 96). Sorry, can't remember exactly, must be getting forgetful due to aging problem. To "A-shun" Thanks for your kind invitation. I guess I would still have to give it a pass this time. First, I have almost used up my annual leave last time when I return home to visit my family early this year. Secondly, I think I become more intolerable on the heat waves in the summer of Taipei, it just almost dries me out. Anyway, I had attended the reunion party for our 10th anniversary of graduation last time, maybe next time for the 30th. Hehehe... Cheers!!

ML 這樣的回應代表八月我看不到你嗎？再考慮看看嘛！ “清蒸鯧魚”是我大學時代的名菜，7415的班刊上有記載，這樣寫只是想連結大學生活的共同回憶，看能不能勾你回台灣一聚其實我已經很久沒燒菜了，真要請你吃飯，還是上館子比較有信心回台灣記得聯絡一下我約豆子一起請你吃飯如果尚智、小毛、阿章、大寶、林紡因也能同時相聚那我大二的室友與榮譽室友團，就算完整報到了要促成這樣的聚會，以現在大家散居各地的情況除了二十年一次的同學會，其他時候恐怕很難再考慮一下嘛！

That's very sweet of you, Hui-lin. Maybe next time when I return to Taiwan, I can be so lucky to enjoy the "steamed snapper" you cook. Thank you in advance. Yes, Lisa, we just "celebrated" the Queen's Birthday here over the long weekend. How about up there? Well, as I can't not catch up with "shou-zhi"'s "grand wisdom", the only thing I can try to keep up is the weight. Sigh!! It's freezing cold here. Guess it is time for hibernation. Ciao!!
