第五大道 - 熨斗區

All of a sudden the computer doesn't let me write Chinese when I turn it on.
I rebooted several times, but it doesn't work. What can I do? Maybe it's time to stop blogging.

Well, I still want to post some pictures taken on Fifth Avenue the other day. Just to show how I found the "mermaid". This is Flatiron District (第五大道 - 熨斗區) which I often watch (and take pictures) from my office window.

and then, I found the....

"mermaid"

... and Michael Jackson "moon walking".

About 熨斗大廈 (from Wikipedia )

熨斗大廈（Flatiron Building）在1902年完工，當時為紐約市最高的大樓之一，同時也是早期摩天大樓的代表作、鋼架建築的先驅。地址為曼哈頓島第五大道175號，座落在23街、百老匯大道和第五大道交叉的一個三角形的街區上，尖頭指向麥迪遜廣場的南邊。大樓周邊的社區稱為熨斗區（Flatiron District）

熨斗大樓的名稱來自於其三角型的街區，而他看起來就像的一個熨斗一樣，在提供資金建設此大樓的公司創立者喬治·A·福勒在逝世兩年後，被命名為福勒大樓。當時當地居民對此大樓相當不看好，甚至下賭注看大樓被風吹倒時的瓦礫能飛多遠。

press shift and Alt the same time

The mermaid mom seems to looks like the god fairy mother .

I had the similar situation happened that I could not type in Chinese. My son told me to press shift and Alt the same time to unlock it. It worked for me. May it work for you too. Good luck.

This is "warm" mermaid mom. The one in my pictures are "party" mermaid mom Thanks for the advice, but it doesn't work for me. I even choose Chinese as the default language.

They are mostly within 20 centimeters in length. The stores probably will provide boxes.

Thank you There are so many articles about harm from overworking with computer. I am not good at self-control. Maybe language barrier can "help" me with it.

Maybe It Is Time To…

重新安裝作業系統。捕光大約每一年到一年半會做一次，因為電腦會累積很多移除不完全的程式和登錄檔，久而久之速度變慢、毛病百出。

或是可以考慮趁機換新機種。

I only bought this computer last year. The language should be there, only I cannot get the icon to select it. I am not so good writing in English. But it's quicker, and the system can check spelling for you. However, English is not my (or most friends') language. I anxiously hope to get the Chinese function back.

I think the "elegant lady" is probably Michael Jackson.

That looks very much like his famous "Moonwalk".

don't worry, pictures carry a thousand words. They are universal language, even my dog can read them well.
