This week we discovered that someone or something is trying to make the deserts green.
The largest sand desert in Saudi Arabia is now almost an ocean. After a series of heavy and unusual rains, the Rub al-Khali desert between Al-Aflaj and Al-Salil turned into an inland sea. Historic rainfall, overflowing dams and huge lakes created unusual scenes.
Something similar happened in the Sahara desert.
