1. "chop" scallion (切蔥):

2. "dice" carrot (胡蘿蔔"切丁"):

"切丁"就是指把食物切成小塊正方形狀。在這裡,我們把胡蘿蔔皆切成正方形狀或稱立方體狀。
3. "slice" tofu ("切"豆腐片):
"Slice" means to cut something into thin, flat pieces. In this case, we use a slice to slice the tofu.
"切片"的意思是切成薄片狀。在這裡,我們用菜刀將豆腐切成薄片。
4. "spread" butter on bread (麵包上"抹開"奶油):
"Spread" means to cover, reach, or have an effect on a wider area. In this case, we spread butter on bread.
"抹開"的意思是去涵蓋或是抵達或者是給予一個影響力讓其到達更大的面積。在這裡我們把奶油在麵包上抹開。
5. "grate" carrot ("磨碎"胡蘿蔔):
"Grate" means to rob food against the grate into a lot of smaller pieces. In this case, we rob carrot against the grate, and the carrot finally becomes in much smaller pieces.
"磨碎"的意思是對著刨刀摩擦食物,將食物磨碎成非常細小狀。在這裡,我們把胡蘿蔔對著刨刀磨碎,其最後呈極小快狀的胡蘿蔔。
6. "peel" an apple ("削"蘋果"皮"):
"Peel" means to remove the skin of fruit and vegetables. In this case, we peel an apple, and we can eat it.
"削皮"的意思是去除水果或蔬菜的表皮。在這裡,我們把蘋果削皮,然後就可以吃了唷。
