| 不用多久我就能拿出幾幅草圖來了。這些草圖誰看了都莫名其妙。即便是那些對我的真理感知、對我希望過後能鐫刻在神廟裡的真理感知抱有好感的人都看不懂，他們祝賀我用「顯微鏡」發現了那些真理，其實恰恰相反，我用了一台天文望遠鏡才隱隱瞥見一些實在很小的東西，之所以小是因爲它們距此遙遠，它們每一個都是一個世界。就是在我求索偉大法則的地方人們稱我是細枝末葉的搜集者。 (p.374 追憶似水年華 VII 重現的時光 聯經版 1992) I was soon able to show an outline of my project.
