| Selected poems：《佛羅斯特名作集：未走之路》 https://www.books.com.tw/products/0010650338 佛羅斯特名作集：未走之路 作者：羅伯特．佛羅斯特 譯者：曹明倫 出版社：格林文化 出版日期：2014/09/26 語言：繁體中文 作者簡介 羅伯特．佛羅斯特（Robert lee Frost） 羅伯特•佛羅斯特於1874年3月26日出生在舊金山，是20世紀受歡迎的美國詩人之一。他前半段的人生曾從事記者、教師，也在新罕布夏州經營農場，但這一切都與願相違，使他鬱鬱寡歡。不過也因為這些日子，讓他親近了鄉村景色與自然風光，影響他未來詩作的呈現。直到1912年，佛羅斯特決定全心投入創作，賣掉農場，辭去教職工作，舉家遷移到英國，更在1913年出版了第一本詩集《少年的心願》（A Boys Will），引起評論家廣大的關注；緊接著出版的《波士頓以北》（North of Boston）更令人耳目一新。三年後他載譽歸國，成為美國詩歌新潮流的領袖，作品開始被大量出版，漸漸成為享有世界聲譽，極深受讀者歡迎的美國一流詩人，更四度榮獲普立茲詩歌獎。 其作品除了上述二本，還有1923年《新罕布夏》（Zew Hampshire）、1928《小河西流》（West-Running Brook）、1936《山外有山》（A Further Range）、1942《見證樹》（A Witness Tree）等。著名詩篇如〈雪夜在林邊停留〉（Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening）、〈金子般的光陰永不停留〉（Nothing Gold Can Stay）及〈未走之路〉（The Road Not Taken）等。 Stars How countlessly they congregate Oer our tumultuous snow, Which flows in shapes as tall as trees When wintry winds do blow!-- As if with keenness for our fate, Our faltering few steps on To white rest, and a place of rest Invisible at dawn,-- And yet with neither love nor hate, Those stars like some snow-white Minervas snow-white marble eyes Without the gift of sight. 〈星星〉 不計其數，聚集在夜空， 在騷動的雪地之上， 在冷冷寒風呼嘯的時候， 雪流動，以樹的形狀—— 彷彿關注著我們的命運， 擔心我們會偶然失足 於一片白色的安息之地， 天亮後難覺察之處—— 然而既無愛心也無仇恨， 星星就像彌涅瓦雕像 那些雪白的大理石眼睛， 有眼無珠，張目亦盲。 In a Disused Graveyard The living come with grassy tread To read the gravestones on the hill; The graveyard draws the living still, But never anymore the dead. The verses in it say and say: "The ones who living come today To read the stones and go away Tomorrow dead will come to stay." So sure of death the marbles rhyme, Yet cant help marking all the time How no one dead will seem to come. What is it men are shrinking from? It would be easy to be clever And tell the stones: Men hate to die And have stopped dying now forever. I think they would believe the lie. 〈在一座荒棄的墓園〉 生者愛踏著荒草而來， 來讀山坡上這些碑； 墓園仍吸引活著的遊客， 卻再也不能把死者吸引。 墓碑上的韻文千篇一律： 「今日來此的活著的人們， 讀完碑文又離去的人們 明天將來這裡長眠安息。」 對死亡如此有把握的碑文 卻禁不住一直暗暗留心 怎麼沒有死者來的跡象。 畏縮什麼呢，活著的人？ 這樣回答也許不乏機敏—— 告訴墓碑人們憎惡死亡， 從今以後永遠不再死去。 我想墓碑會相信這彌天大謊。 Blue-Butterfly Day It is blue-butterfly day here in spring, And with these sky-flakes down in flurry on flurry There is more unmixed color on the wing Than flowers will show for days unless they hurry. But these are flowers that fly and all but sing: And now from having ridden out desire They lie closed over in the wind and cling Where wheels have freshly sliced the April mire. 〈藍蝴蝶日〉 這便是此地春天裡的藍蝴蝶日 隨著一陣陣藍色薄片紛紛落下 這種飛翔中的毫無混雜的顏色 比地上將逐日開放的野花還多。 但這些就是雖會飛但不會唱的 野花。因已克制了高飛的欲望， 牠們在四月的和風中合翅停飛， 依戀泥淖中剛留下車轍的地方。 A Boundless Moment He halted in the wind, and - what was that Far in the maples, pale, but not a ghost? He stood there bringing March against his thought, And yet too ready to believe the most. Oh, thats the Paradise-in-bloom, I said; And truly it was fair enough for flowers had we but in us to assume in march Such white luxuriance of May for ours. We stood a moment so in a strange world, Myself as one his own pretense deceives; And then I said the truth (and we moved on) . A young beech clinging to its last years leaves. 〈無限的瞬間〉 他迎著風停下腳步——那是什麼， 在楓樹林中，白乎乎但不是幽靈？ 他站在那兒讓三月緊貼他的思緒， 但卻極不願意相信那最美的美景。 「啊，那是繁花盛開的樂園。」我説。 它的確也美得足以被人看成繁花， 只要三月裡的我們能在心中想像 那是五月裡如雪似銀的一樹春華。 我倆在一個奇異的世界站了片刻， 我自已也像他發呆那樣心醉神迷； 最後我說出了眞相 (我倆繼續走)。 那是棵還留著去年枯葉的山毛櫸。 |
