Blood Test

Yesterday I went to a suite in some small medical center to receive a blood test.  Before that I had to find and see a family doctor, and let the doctor do some preliminary check and issue a blood test slip.  Then I had to find a test clinic which is most convenient to me and make an appointment.  After a week or so subsequent to the test done, the report will be sent to the doctors, then I can make another appointment to see my doctor again.  By the time, he will do some judgement calls to see if I need to see more specialists for further checks.  If positive, it will necessitate my making more appointment, going to more different places.   Its indeed a troublesome procedure for health care in America, not to mention the complicated and costly insurance system thereof.  (Insurance may be the root cause for a situation like this.)

Perhaps in America patients could get better medical services than in populous Taiwan or Chinas Mainland, where people might get much less time and precise information from doctors for pre-treatment.  But the defects of scarcity in medical sources could be rectified by many means, while American insurance system already had so much vested interests got involved in there that it had become an intertwined knot which is hard to untie.

P.S. In America, insurance tycoons make money by squandering medical resources, while in Taiwan we have wastage of overusing medication.  Dear islanders, weve got to cherish our national health insurance.

Using “appointment” instead of "reservation" makes your less alien.  [喵喵]
