Mt. Zhong Yong(忠勇山), here I come again.

The "mount" is tucked away in the Taipei Wolds near Nei-Hu District, the place where I live now.  The mount is accessible to the hikers via two main ways: one is to walk(or drive) upward along the mountain road to Bi-san Temple(碧山巖), then get to an entrance of the trail about 400 steps to top.  The other is to walk(or drive) to a shorter distance to Jing-long Temple(金龍寺), then get to an entrance of the trail with 1,252 steps all the way to top.  I prefer to the latter one because I hate to inhale exhaust from vehicles while I am panting up the hill.

Onto the peak, stands a statue of late President Chiang Kai-shek.  Around the plinch of the statue, as well as in the pavilions nearby, hikers sit in respite.  But I never halt my step staying there for a while, for I want to continue finishing the whole trip, ending at the bus stop, in 50 minutes.  I always regard the hiking as an exercise instead of a kind of relaxation.  A trip of the hiking leaves me perspiring profusely no less than that of a 5k jogging.  I used to go hiking at least twice a week until the end of last October when I went abroad for two and a half months.  I resumed doing it today, and it made me feel so great except a little bit tired.  Doing excercises is a task of endurance, and never do it by fits and starts.

Enjoy with me the fresh air emitted from the trees along the trail, and strengthen your heart and your vital capacity as kind of fringe benefits.  Needless to say, bring a canteen with you; preferably, also take a hiking stick and a knapsack(or a bumbag).  See you there!
