Taiwans former representative to Nicaragua retired from his position just a month prior to the break-up between two regimes, then he immediately obtained Nicaraguan nationality and decided not to return to Taiwan, as per some reports.  

Obviously, that representative is a shrewd opportunist, a typical DPP politician.  He got the job twice when DPP in the office, so he must be a diehard supporter of the party.  Now it is understandable that DPP administration felt embarassed and upset about it and even called him a rebel.  But the government can do nothing to "punish" him, e.g. suspending his retirement or pension, unless there are evidences that he committed malfeasance during his tenures. 

I think we cannot exclude the possibility that DPP would intend to use him as an "advisor" to sabotage the newly-founded diplomatic relation between China Mainland and Nicarague.  But that will be totally a stupid idea. 

If that guy is an even shrewder opportunist, I suggest him from now on he should recommnad himself to work for China Embassy.  Well, I guess China Embassy wont take him.

大陸只接受「一個中國」～那麼，這「一個中國」就必須是兩岸「共享」的，而非中共政權獨享的紅色圖騰。

唯有先「共享」〈都是一部分的中國〉～中華兄弟邦聯，再徐圖融合為一體，才是政體迥異的兩岸和統終南捷徑。

引《孟子。梁惠王下》：

「惟仁者為能以大事小，是故湯事葛，文王事昆夷。

　惟智者為能以小事大，故大王事燻鬻，勾踐事吳。

　以大事小者，樂天者也；以小事大者，畏天者也。

　樂天者，保天下；畏天者，保其國。」

I can feel your earnest aspiration toward the peace between the strait, Sir; I really respect that.

China, the only intact one, must be shared by the people of both sides of the strait, and that is for sure.  The status quo has been the remnant of unfinished Civil War, in which ROC has been technically knocked down, and that is for sure, too.    

Therefore, the only way out the mire for Taiwan(or ROC) is to sit down and talk with China Mainland before it is too late.  There is no other choice simply because we cannot ignore the will to power of the collective Mainlanders of 1.4 billion for reunion; unless, the islanders want to resume the already determined civil war over 70 years ago. 

Certainly, confederation is one of the choices to be discussed on the table, but I think China Mainland will not accept it.  If you ask me, I think the abbreviated China Taiwan is the most likely one. Under that name, Taiwan may be allowed to rejoin the affiliated organizations of UN, or even UN itself.

The pivotal question for people of Taiwan is to be Chinese or not to be.

以下站在中華民國〈台灣〉政府的立場而論：
據了解，前駐尼加拉瓜大使吳進木政治立場偏綠。
吳可能因預見邦交將失館產不保，選擇離任擔心返國受責難，乃先辦妥入籍尼國。〈吳妻寓居尼國十四年已習慣〉
吳及館員應該是有掌握並回報即將斷交訊息，但假設上級指令堅守，因外館勢孤已無力回天，遂做離任最壞打算？
至於外交部「如果明知斷交在即，為何要讓吳大使離任，而派李大使去收尾？」頗值得玩味。
不過，前外交官劉仕傑表示「作為一個前退休大使，應該展現強硬的態度，而不是讓尼國政府摸頭，應該不算苛求吧？」
劉仕傑也表示「一個傷害台灣人感情的國家，在斷交之後，留著這樣的勳章還有任何意義嗎？」
吳離任後入籍尼國獲勳，是外交官風骨問題，尚無悖職叛國等問題。吳也不可能轉任中國外交系統，否則就有叛國嫌疑。
〈ps.海峽兩岸若是一個大屋頂下一大一小的兄弟邦聯，國際競爭力將遠勝於貌合神離的一中強統或一國兩制。〉

China Mainland accepts "One China" only, while Taiwan(ROC) wants "Peer Relationship"; therefore, the idea of confederation is not that feasible.
