Several days ago, I mentioned in my previous writing about the story of Bonnie and Clyde of Chinese version: Fa Ziyin(法子英) and Lao Rongzhi(勞榮枝), who had brutally killed seven persons for money.  Fa was captured and executed twenty-two years ago, while Lao was arrested in 2019 and was sentenced to death in the first ruling the other day.  

Today someone sent me via LINE through a clip of news from World Journal about Fa and Lao.  Amid reading their story again, suddenly I thought what if Fa and Lao commited the crimes in Taiwan nowadays, will they die for what they did?

The answer may be like this: if these two inexcusable murderers chant sutra or read Bible in prison to express their remorse, they will be deemed rectifiable and will escape from death penalty.  After twenty years or less, they could even be released on parole.
