"Greed is the real poverty, mead the real wealth is the most." FYI, I found the sentence yesterday in a sticker that pasted on the wall of a toilet in Tri-Service General Hospital, to where I repaired for my pre-diabetes treatment every three months. But the word "mead" denotes a kind of sweet fruit wine, or a small patch of grassland, so I wonder if it is an appropriate usage here. Well, I doubt it should be "meed", a payment or reward that someone deserves to receive. Please correct me if I am wrong, or you have better explanation, thanks! |
