Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, current Chief Executive of Hong Kong since 2017, announced in an interview yesterday that in next two years the most important task in education for Hong Kong is to rectify what had been wrong in the past with radical reform and bring it back to right track. She said the move should start with inculcating in (young) people the fundamental sense of "One China" and should also firmly carry out the laws of "national anthem" and "national security". She is absolutely right. "Why next two years only?", some netizens questioned. I quess what Ms Lam emphasized is that will be the most important job in her remaining tenure. No doubt, her successor(s) and the central government in Beijing will strongly continue supporting the policy, too.
