Recently I read a critic on LINE, regarding the issue of recall vote against mayor Han of Kaohsiung.  The author argued that Han did not acquit himself badly as a mayor in municipal administration, nor he and his team had perpetrated anything of venality, then why must people of Kaohsiung recall him just because they disliked him?  Well, that is a piece of good writing on the basis of law spirit; however, I have to say the author was wasting his breath.

In 1998 when that Corrupt A-bian sought reelction of mayor of Taipei, one of his campaign slogan was "if Ma were elected, the democracy of Taiwan would have regressed to previous stage as long as ten years."  What a lame logic it is!  Since then, I have realized that in DPP mindset, democracy is just a synonym to "ruling by DPP only", regardless of the democratic mechanism; or just a fig leaf for Taidu.  Anything deviates from their "norm" will be undemocratic, and it must be amended until it becomes "democratic" again. 

I do not like that "over-my-dead-body" Han myself, and I do not care much about the recall itself either.  But dear islanders, if you continue to delight yourselves in (Taiwanese) democracy and never get tired of it, for you still believe it is an universal value as DPP keeps on telling you, all I can say is you are nothing but patients of incurably ill!
