Tomorrow I will attend the funeral of an erstwhile colleague who passed away last month due to contracting a pneumonia.  It was really a shock to me, a bolt from the blue, for how could such a curable disease nowadays deprive of her life; on the other hand, it might not be a big surprise because she had been suffering rigidty from Parkinsons for years, and the refractory illness might have brought adverse effects on her immune system in resisting against diseases.  The only thing I know is she must have borne a lot of unbearable siege in her latter days.

After graduating from a prestigious university she became a diligent employee and an admirable co-worker who was always compatible with others in the company that I used to be with.  From "conventional" aspect, people may regard her as a high-born person, for her father was a retired general and later the highest ranking police officer in Taiwan.  But as far as I could remember she had never lived in the reflected glory of her father; she is a taciturn and well-bred lady indeed. 

She is beautiful with slender figure, always showing a dignified bearing and wearing light, angelic smile.  She is generally acknowledged as a perfect model of classic Chinese beauty by all her colleagues, and I accredit such a praise to her, too.  Even when I saw her sit in a wheelchair hosting the wedding reception of her son last year, she still showed herself as an elegant lady with great presence. 

She is an angel sent from Heaven, and now she is returning to where she belongs.
